How to Submit an Abstract

Presentations for the Energy Influencers Conference are selected through a competitive abstract review process conducted by the Energy Influencers Committee. Early submissions are strongly encouraged to provide committee members with adequate time for evaluation. Late submissions will not be accepted.


Step 1: Review Presentation Categories

Before submitting, review the available presentation categories and select the one that best aligns with your proposed topic. A primary category selection is required.

All submissions will be evaluated based on the information provided in the online submission form with the following criteria:

  • Industry Relevance and Value: Provides meaningful insights, research, innovations, or lessons learned relevant to the energy industry.

  • Originality and Innovation: Demonstrates new ideas, approaches, technologies, or perspectives.

  • Practical Application: Shares real-world experience, results, best practices, or actionable lessons learned.

  • Quality and Strength of the Content: Presents clear, well-developed, and informative content with an appropriate level of depth.

  • Educational and Non-Commercial Content: Delivers objective, educational content without excessive promotional or marketing material.


Step 2: Submit Your Abstract

All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the online submission portal by the published submission deadline.

Submission Requirements

Presentation Title

  • Maximum 10 words

  • Clearly describe the primary topic and focus of the presentation

  • Must not include commercial trade names, product names, or promotional language

Abstract

  • Maximum 450 words

  • Written in English

  • Should provide sufficient detail to support the review process

Please structure your abstract to include the following sections:

Objectives and Scope

  • Describe the purpose of the presentation and the key topics that will be addressed.

Methods, Procedures, or Approach

  • Outline the methodology, process, project approach, or framework used.

Results, Findings, and Key Takeaways

  • Summarize the outcomes, lessons learned, observations, or conclusions.

New or Added Value

  • Explain how the presentation contributes new knowledge, practical insight, industry learnings, or innovative approaches relevant to energy professionals.

Presenter Information

A photo and professional biography of the planned presenter will need to be included in the submission and will only be used if the submission is selected for the final program.

Note: Management approval should be obtained prior to submission. Any potential issues affecting participation, such as travel restrictions, visa requirements, budget limitations, or approval processes, should be identified during submission.


Step 3: Abstract Review Process

Following the submission deadline, all abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Energy Influencers Committee using a standardized evaluation process and scoring criteria.

Key dates:

  • Committee review period begins following the December 4, 2026, submission deadline

  • All submitters will be notified of their submission status by email by January 22, 2027. Notifications will be sent to the primary contact listed in the submission form.


Step 4: Guidelines for Accepted Presenters

At the abstract submission stage, only the information requested through the online form is required.

Accepted speakers will receive detailed presenter guidelines, including presentation requirements, timelines, speaker resources, and registration instructions..

Presentation Materials

If accepted, presenters will be required to submit:

  • Final PowerPoint presentation by the specified deadline

Speaker Participation Requirements

  • Accepted speakers must register for the conference using the discounted speaker registration rate.

  • Speakers are required to provide a public version of their presentation that will be published in the conference's online digital library on Energy Connects.

  • Presentation content must remain educational and non-commercial.


Expenses

dmg events does not cover speaker expenses, including registration fees, travel, accommodation, meals, visa costs, or any other incidental expenses associated with participation in the conference.
