Tara Barnett is LNG Canada’s Chief Corporate Relations Officer and a member of the company’s executive leadership team. Tara brings more than 25 years of experience across environmental, social, governance (ESG), regulatory, stakeholder and corporate affairs. Her career began in environmental assessment and project permitting, supporting oil and gas exploration and infrastructure projects across western and northern Canada.​

Tara joined Shell in 2013 and has held leadership roles in venture integration, emergency management, corporate relations, and business development, spanning upstream to downstream including frontier exploration, shales, distribution, and offshore power. Tara has worked in nearly every province and territory in Canada gaining a deep appreciation for regional contexts, communities, and stakeholder perspectives. ​

Tara joined LNG Canada in 2023 as the Phase 2 Integration Manager, playing a key role in putting LNG Canada on a trajectory to become one of the largest LNG facilities in the world and helping move Canada toward becoming one of the world’s top five LNG exporting nations.​
