Kari Hyde is the Director of Customer Energy Solutions at the Pembina Institute. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, with over a decade focused on grid modernization and the integration of demand-side management and distributed energy resources.

Her work centres on helping governments, regulators, and utilities evolve how electricity systems are planned and operated to better incorporate customer-side solutions. This includes advancing policy and regulatory frameworks that enable energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed technologies to play a meaningful role in supporting affordability, reliability, and electrification.

Kari is known for her ability to connect policy, regulation, and utility operations, translating complex system challenges into practical approaches that can be implemented at scale.
