Pierre Kennepohl is a professor of chemistry and the associate dean (community and innovation) in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary. He works to build connections between researchers, industry, and society, recognizing that impactful innovation is grounded in meaningful dialogue and shared purpose. His research leverages advanced X-ray spectroscopic methods to probe novel materials with unique functional properties. He co-leads the new Laboratory for in operando X-ray Science (LinXS), which will deliver laboratory-based X-ray spectroscopy for probing materials under real-world conditions.
