Claude Ghazar is the Executive Director of Aerospace, Defence and Advanced Materials at Alberta Innovates, where he leads strategic programs designed to strengthen Alberta’s industrial capabilities across high-performance materials, next-generation manufacturing, and defence technology innovation. His mandate focuses on building cross-sectoral linkages between Alberta’s established energy and materials expertise and Canada’s growing aerospace and defence sectors - advancing dual-use technologies that enhance both economic and national resilience.

A registered professional engineer with over 25 years of experience, Mr. Ghazar brings a broad perspective and background in mechanical engineering, technology development, and strategic consulting providing a strong foundation for linking Alberta’s technology ecosystems.

Mr. Ghazar holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a registered professional engineer with APEGA.
