Mike MacSween is the Executive Chair and CEO for Exergy Solutions Inc., a Calgary based engineering, consulting, and advanced manufacturing company.  He recently retired as Executive Vice President at Suncor Energy Inc. With over 35 years in the energy industry, he has led large-scale operations and projects in Alberta’s Oil Sands, offshore E&P, downstream, and renewable energy sectors. He was a key member of Suncor’s executive leadership team for 13 years, and has also held roles with Betz Process Chemicals and Shell Canada Ltd.

Mike is also a Board member with the Canadian Welding Board, McKay Metis Group Ltd. and Aqua Solutions Inc., and joined Boston Consulting Group as a Senior Advisor in late 2023. His past service includes the Board of United Way of Calgary and Productivity Alberta.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and graduated from the Rotman Directors Education Program in 2017.
