Kris grew up on a farm near Olds, Alberta, where he developed a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic through life on the land. After high school, he attended Olds College, completing the Mechanical Technology Program, followed by the Land Reclamation Program.
Like many young Albertans in the early 2000s, Kris was drawn to the opportunity-rich oil and gas industry. Over two decades, he took on a variety of roles—from labourer to consultant—and ultimately discovered his passion in Business Development. The downturn in 2015 and its long-lasting effects on the province led Kris to seek answers and inspired his involvement in politics.
Kris contributed to the United Conservative Party's 2019 campaign, played a key role in Danielle Smith’s leadership campaign, and supported the UCP again in 2023. He now works directly with Premier Smith as her Special Projects Manager.
Outside of work, Kris enjoys spending time with his family on their farm in Olds and remains dedicated to the land and community that shaped him.
