Jessica Shumlich (P.Eng., MM) is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Highwood Emissions Management. She is considered a leading expert in the oil and gas industry, specifically on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions management, and methane in particular.

As CEO, Jessica is leading a rapidly growing 30 person Highwood team in its mission: to deliver the oil & gas industry’s premier solutions for accurate methane inventories that enable real, transparent, and provable emissions reductions. Jessica led the securing of $3 million in seed funding to fuel product development and position Highwood for accelerated growth & innovation in the emissions intelligence space.

Jessica has over fifteen years experience working for energy companies, governments, technology developers and various startups across the globe. She is a collaborative, proven leader, driving successful market positioning for energy transition, operational excellence, global and local policy revamps, and the reduction of millions of tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Jessica is an advocate for sustainable development, healthy living and vibrant communities. She volunteers for many organizations including Green Calgary, Bike Calgary and Momentum. Her passions include family and friends, travel, learning about different cultures, and anything that gets her outside including exploring the mountains at the doorstep of Calgary.
