To inspire the industry’s future leaders, local top performing students with an interest in STEM will be invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind afternoon program where they will meet with industry experts to learn how the newest technological advancements are influencing the industry and how a future career in the industry can contribute to Canada’s future global leadership position.
Taking place at the Global Energy Show Canada, Sept. 21-23 on the exhibition floor, Global Energy Next Gen is a next generation program with a mission to educate them on the reality and exciting future opportunities of the energy sector. The program this year will focus on two different groups of students with day one and two led and hosted by Cenovus Energy focusing on post-secondary students. Day three will be led and hosted by SAIT who will be focusing on students under the age of 18.

Day 1 & 2 with Cenovus Energy
The Global Energy Show’s Next Gen program is aimed at inspiring the energy industry’s future leaders, including youth and young professionals with an interest in STEM.
Sponsored by Cenovus, the program provides access to learning, exclusive show experiences as well as opportunities to engage with mentors and senior leaders in the industry. With a focus on educating participants about the current state and future potential of the industry, youth and young professionals will have the opportunity to meet with industry experts to learn about new technologies and innovation, the importance of sustainability to the industry and how a career in the industry can underpin Canada’s future global leadership position.
Day 3 with SAIT
The energy sector is one of the largest contributors to our Canadian GDP, and a global example of an innovative, ethically, environmentally and sustainably responsible, highly regulated and leading-edge industry.
Sponsored by SAIT, the program seeks to inspire the industry’s future leaders, students between the ages of 13-17 with an interest in STEM are invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind one day program where they will meet with industry experts to learn how the newest technological advancements are influencing the industry and how a future career in the industry can contribute to Canada’s future global leadership position.
