To some they are controversial, to others they are heroes; but, regardless, no one can deny that they have an ongoing influence within the energy sector. They are the leaders, the innovators and the collaborators who are disrupting the energy industry.

The Global Energy Show Awards (previously the GPS Awards) is an evening of celebration and networking. The Global Energy Awards serves to celebrate the leaders who drive change, shine a spotlight on excellence, and promote healthy advancement within our industry.

Collaborative Trendsetter

The Collaborative Trendsetter Award is designed to recognize operators who are leading the charge, pushing the envelope, refining industry level performance, driving technology innovation and collaboration within the oil and gas industry. The submission must include recent projects and/or activities.

  • How is your company relevant to the sector?
  • How has your company pushed the envelope within the oil and gas industry?
  • What recent projects and/or activities have been developed to drive technology innovation and collaboration?
  • Which partners/stakeholders/clients were collaborated with on the project/activity?
  • How is the company redefining industry level performance?

Community Engagement

The Community Engagement Award recognizes significant contributions to the betterment of the community, particularly in the areas of, but not necessarily, Education, Health, Economic Development, Social Services, Arts and Culture, or Sustainability. This must pertain to a 2019 initiative.

  • Clear explanation of project/initiative that can be used for marketing purposes (400 words). This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your project/initiative new or relevant to the sector?
  • How has your company participated in planning and implementing the project/initiative within the community?
  • What community or group is this benefitting?
  • What steps are you taking in order to go above and beyond?
  • What is this project doing to develop meaningful community partnerships?

Digital Innovator

The Digital Innovator Award recognizes new digital technologies which are designed to support or drive the energy industry. All technologies in this category should be at either: initial production and rollout, full production mode, or commercial.

  • Clear explanation of technology that can be used for marketing purposes. This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your technology new or relevant to the sector? Please provide sufficient technical detail that people in your industry can appreciate the significant and not just spec or features.
  • Who is the target market?
  • What solution or value proposition does it offer the industry?
  • What differentiates your solution to your competitors?
  • How is this an advancement over what is currently achievable in your sector?
  • Which Partners/Stakeholders/Clients do you work with for this project/technology?

Emerging Clean Technologies

The Emerging Clean Technologies Award is specific to non-renewable resources and is focused on innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including Co2 and methane, in the fossil energy industry. These can include storage, capture and carbon conversion/utilization technologies or processes, as well as technologies or processes for measurement monitoring, detection and reduction of GHGs, and energy efficiency solutions that will help reduce energy consumption in the energy industry. Unfortunately, we cannot accept projects in the preliminary stages of development. 

  • Clear explanation of project/technology that can be used for marketing purposes. This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your project/technology new or relevant to the sector? Please provide enough technical detail that people in your industry can appreciate the significant and not just spec or features.
  • Who is the target market?
  • What environmental solution or value proposition does it offer the industry?
  • What differentiates your solution to your competitors?

Emerging Leader

The Emerging Leader Award acknowledges an up and coming individual whose efforts have already made a significant contribution to their organization, industry and the community. The nominee should truly standout in terms of strategic thinking, leadership, community involvement and the pursuit of excellence in their field.

  • Full name, job title and company of nominee
  • Paragraph regarding the individuals job description
  • This will be used publicly for marketing materials
  • In what way are the nominee’s achievements extraordinary within their company?
  • How are they making a difference within the industry?
  • How has the individual contributed in an outstanding and meaningful way to their community?

Health & Safety

The Health & Safety Award acknowledges new concepts/technologies which contribute to enhancing the overall HSE record of the energy industry. Concepts/technologies must go beyond the traditional requirements, they must be proactive and preventative.

  • Clear explanation of concept/technology that can be used for marketing purposes. This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your concept new or relevant to the sector? Please provide enough technical detail that people in your industry can appreciate the significant and not just spec or features.
  • Who is the target market?
  • What health and safety solution or value proposition does it offer the industry?

Indigenous Excellence

The Indigenous Excellence Award is designed to recognize Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) and non-Indigenous companies who are leading the way by successful collaboration between Indigenous peoples and the energy industry.

  • Clear explanation of project/initiative that can be used for marketing purposes. This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your project/initiative new or relevant to the sector?
  • How has your company participated in planning and implementing the project/initiative within Indigenous communities?
  • What community or Indigenous group is this benefiting?

Innovation in Equipment

The Innovation in Equipment Award recognizes high disruptive innovations in equipment that have a major impact on energy efficiency, emissions, economics, schedule or quality. All technologies in this category should be at either: initial production and rollout, full production mode, or commercial.

Suzanne West Environmental Excellence

The Suzanne West Environmental Excellence Award serves to recognize any efforts, initiatives or technological advancements that have minimized or eliminated the environmental footprint of the oil and gas industry. This award is specific to environmental technologies/initiatives used in the oil and gas industry. All environmental technologies in this category should be at either: initial production and roll-out, full production mode, or commercial.

  • Clear explanation of project/technology that can be used for marketing purposes. This MUST be public ready as it will be used to promote your submission on the website.
  • How is your project/technology new or relevant to the sector? Please provide sufficient technical detail that people in your industry can appreciate the significant and not just spec or features.
