Amir completed his first degree in Industrial & systems engineering in 2008. During his studies he worked as an apprentice in oil & gas, manufacturing and maintenance engineering service sectors. His thesis on improvement of the preventive maintenance system for a boiler manufacturing company attracted great attention and encouragement. Following the completion of his BSc, Amir was admitted to the Project Management MSc programme of the University of Birmingham (UK) in 2009 in which he developed a full understanding of the project management concept and the relevant body of knowledge (PMBOK). He also gained valuable working experience in the pharmaceutical sector within his MSc studies. Amir’s rich academic background along with an industrial insight let him then pursue a PhD in management of projects in the University of Manchester, UK. He worked on a project described as “Development of a Decision Making Tool to Support Value Creation in Oil & Gas Business” between 2011 and 2015. Amir is a subject matter expert in design and development of expert and decision support systems for industrial and non-industrial applications with a main focus on the Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) requirements. He worked as Head of R&D at Monition Limited from June 2017 until August 2019 when the company was fully integrated into RS Components. He is currently R&D Project Manager and also a member of the Industrial IoT development team at RS Components.
Amir is a visiting lecturer and also a visiting research & teaching fellow in the University of Manchester, Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) and in the University of Huddersfield, UK.
