Kathleen Moe Soe Let

EOR Program Manager

I have worked for the national oil company of Suriname, Staatsolie, since 2003 after I had graduated from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname. I hold a bachelor's degree in Mining and a post-graduate degree in Petroleum technology. In April 2013 I received my Master's degree in Petroleum Geology and my thesis was on investigating the feasibility of CO2 injection as an immiscible flood in the Tambaredjo oil field, our oldest field. My current function within the company is EOR team leader and my team is mainly responsible for the evaluation of implementing EOR technology in the existing Staatsolie oilfields. In my early career, I have worked as a Reservoir Engineer within the company and have been involved in several improvement projects to increase the oil recovery in our medium-heavy oil fields. Before my function as EOR team leader I was the subsurface coordinator of an asset team that was installed for one of our fields located in the swamp. The objective of this team was to pilot the business unit concept within our company. It was proven that this concept can be profitable for Staatsolie and future implementation will be further investigated.   I am the vice-chair of the current SPE board of our section in Suriname. My previous function in the SPE board was as program chair and I have hosted two Distinguished Lecturer programs in our section. I have co-authored a few SPE paper and have presented at the 18th SPE Improved Oil Recovery Symposium in Tulsa and at the 6th Annual Global Improved Oil Recovery Workshop in Istanbul.
