Allan Bertram is a Professional Engineer, and member of APEGA, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Lakehead University. He has over 20 years of experience, including significant work in property acquisitions. His career began in 1993 as a field engineer for Computalog Ltd. where he conducted well logging operations. He was later employed by Gilbert Laustsen Jung, a well-known reserves and economics consulting firm. He then worked as exploitation engineer for Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., a very successful Canadian independent producer. Mr. Bertram then worked for Penn West Energy as Development Manager for the Lower Shaunavon unconventional play, where production was ramped up from zero to 3500 bopd. Next he took a position as VP Exploitation for Terra Energy Corp, a junior producer. Subsequently, he worked as exploitation engineer for Tundra Oil & Gas, a best-in-class conventional waterflood operator. At Tundra, he was team-lead of a horizontal Bakken development and specifically the Lodgepole tight oil play, where through large-capital programs, production was ramped up by 5000 bopd. Currently, working in a boutique consulting firm, SW Energy Frontiers Ltd., with the goal to help operating companies adopt new technologies.
