Paul runs the SRC office in downtown Calgary which opened in November 2013. Paul’s role focuses upon building and developing single and multi-client applied research opportunities for SRC with leading energy players and associations, in addition to working with SME’s and the venture capital / private equity community in the selective support of new technology development. This remit includes areas of Canadian energy industry focus such as Enhancing Oil Recovery - across the viscosity spectrum from “Bitumen to Bakken”- methane measurement and mitigation and partial upgrading. Paul is also a board member of the World Petroleum Council’s Canada Chapter, Global Chamber Calgary, the British Canadian Business Association’s Alberta Chapter and is also an alumnus member of the Calgary Consular Corps.
Prior to joining SRC, Paul was National Marketing Manager for the Energy sector across Canada at KPMG. Previously at Calgary Economic Development, Paul developed trade and inward investment opportunities for Calgary companies in the energy sector, leading on a number of groundbreaking initiatives including trade and investment missions to China, Colombia and Australia.
Prior to joining Calgary Economic Development, Paul was Director for UK Trade and Investment’s Calgary office, since grown to Consular status. A dual Canadian/UK citizen and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Paul holds a Master of Arts in PPE (Politics, Philosophy & Economics) from Oxford University, and a Marketing Diploma from the UK’s Institute of Marketing.
