Behnaz Afsahi LaFrenz, M.Sc., P.Eng, is a recent M.Sc. graduate in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) at the University of Calgary. Behnaz has more than two decades of experience working with oil producers and service companies worldwide, often incorporating a variety of environmentally sustainable methods for oil extraction. Behnaz is passionate about energy transition strategies, clean energy, heavy industries decarbonization and the efforts required to move the needle on environmental performance in Alberta. She completed her BSc in Chemical Engineering from University of Tehran and also holds an MSc in Chemical & Petroleum Engineering (2006) from U.Calgary. She also holds her Professional Engineer designation with APEGA.
