Gerald Chalifoux

Mr. Chalifoux founded Petrospec Engineering Inc. in 1997 and remains active as President and CEO. Over its twenty five year history Petrospec has emerged as a global leader in reservoir monitoring, high technology production optimization systems and enhanced heavy oil recovery technologies. Under Chalifoux’s direction, Petrospec has worked with virtually every exploration and production company active in the cold and thermal heavy oil in Canada and have provided products and services to oil companies across five continents. This extensive thermal recovery expertise has more recently propelled the company into other unconventional oil recovery operations and the geothermal industry globally. In his career Gerry was responsible for the design of reservoir monitoring systems, oil and gas production and process systems, well completions and workovers, artificial lift systems and reservoir engineering. He was the founder of Canada’s only Electric Submersible Pump manufacturer; Canadian Advanced Inc and also held previous engineering and management positions at A. Comeau & Associates Ltd. as well as Amoco Canada Petroleum Co. Ltd. involved in a myriad of cold and thermal heavy oil pilots as well as conventional gas in western Canada. He has authored many technical papers presented internationally and an inventor; presently listed on nine (9) international patents. He has developed and delivered heavy oil and artificial lift courses to oil company technical staff on a consultancy basis. Chalifoux earned a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta.
