Dan Forget

Dan works with Kanin’s partners to identify opportunities, structure commercial agreements and navigate financing. With 11 years of experience in energy finance and renewable development, he brings a broad understanding of project origination, capital allocation and transaction execution.

Prior to joining Kanin, Dan was a member of the Power Business Development team at Enbridge, North America’s largest energy infrastructure company. Prior thereto, he worked as member of TransAlta Corporation’s Growth team evaluating the commercial viability of renewable energy development and acquisition opportunities.

Before moving into development, Dan spent eight years in capital markets working with energy companies and their investors. At CIBC Capital Markets, Dan was a member of the Institutional Equity Research and Investment Banking teams. He started his career on FirstEnergy Capital’s Sales and Trading desk.

Dan has a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary where he was a member of the Calgary Portfolio Management Trust.
