Mark is a mechanical engineer and certified energy manger with an MBA that focused on economics, finance, and technology commercialization. He has 20 years of experience in the energy industry working on innovation, product development, energy management, manufacturing, and business management.

While Innovation Director and shareholder of a private manufacturing company he launched new product lines, business lines, and collaborations to commercialize innovations, including several patented products. This was done on a foundation of operations and design engineering experience that formed a broad understanding of energy systems, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain, rooted in Lean manufacturing and process-thinking.

Mark’s passion for energy and systems led him to the role of Hydrogen Hub Leader for the Edmonton Region Hydrogen HUB with the Transition Accelerator. Here, he is helping build transition pathways to an economically sustainable hydrogen economy that is compatible with net-zero energy systems of the future.
