Rick Carron was appointed President of Superior Propane in July 2021. Superior Propane is Canada’s leading distributor of low-emission propane to help industry and communities displace carbon-intense fuels with a cleaner, safer alternative. Rick is committed to maintaining Superior’s position as the propane experts with a secure propane supply, unmatched distribution network, and a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Under Rick’s leadership, Superior is exploring more opportunities to deliver low-carbon fuel alternatives to homes and industries across Canada, helping Canadians reduce their environmental impact while supporting businesses in their achievement of ESG targets.
Other key company initiatives are focused on improving the customer experience through digitalization, such as the mySUPERIOR™ mobile app, SMART Tank™ wireless monitoring sensors, and automated deliveries and scheduling.
Rick joined Superior Propane in 2011 as Vice President, Sales, and served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations before being appointed to President. He is based in Calgary, Alberta. Prior to joining Superior, Rick held executive and senior leadership positions for more than 20 years within the energy, telecom and consumer packaged goods industries. Rick holds a BA in Economics from the University of Calgary. He lives in Calgary with his wife of 30 years. Together, they have four adult children. During his personal time, Rick has been active in Calgary Minor hockey, enjoys golfing and supports his family with many local and international equestrian competition events.
