Sheldon Wall

Sheldon attended the University of Saskatchewan (B.Sci – Computational Science 1987) and began his career at Shell Canada Limited.  He is currently Manager Analytics at Suncor Energy.

The last 40 years has been a learning adventure from punch-cards to applied AI within Calgary and region spent mostly within the Oil and Gas industry.  During that time, he has had to continually reinvent himself in various roles; both employee and contract positions.

Sheldon is passionate about many things; particularly the topic of data and people and the many aspects of unlocking potential to generate greater value.  At Suncor Sheldon leads the Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACE) that focuses on the development, distribution and governance of disciplines, processes and practices required for analytical product development and sustainment.  Additionally, providing training to use case teams in the application of advanced analytics and to the broader employee base through the Analytics Citizen Upskilling Program.

For recreation Sheldon runs about two Marathons a year and enjoys back-country canoeing.  Having completed a few bucket-list runs (Boston, New York, Chicago and Berlin Marathons) his goal is to complete the remaining two (Tokyo and London) to round out the Big 6.
