Twenty three years experience with TransCanada in energy markets, economics and strategy. Appeared as a TransCanada witness in numerous regulatory hearings before the National Energy Board and the Alberta Energy Regulator, starting with the Alliance Pipeline application in 1998. Testified for TransCanada on matters related to natural gas markets, energy economics and pricing, pipeline throughput, depreciation, and TransCanada’s services and pricing. As Director of Market and Supply Analysis developed and presented scenarios on LNG to the TransCanada Board of Directors in 2007, and developed and presented scenarios on shale gas to the TransCanada Board of Directors in 2009. Participated in developing National Petroleum Council studies on The Future of Natural Gas in 1997, 2001, 2007, and 2011, providing industry advice on natural gas policy to the U.S. DOE. Led a 2011 team that produced a topic paper on the future of natural gas midstream infrastructure. Presented TransCanada’s market outlook and other analyses at numerous customer meetings and to other audiences. Delivered a speech on the challenges of building new energy infrastructure at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Centre for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR) in 2015. Prepared executive briefing materials for meetings with many industry and government leaders, including then US Senator Hillary Clinton. As Director of Corporate Strategy led the development and writing of the TransCanada Corporate Strategic Plan and assisted with presentation of the Plan to the Board. Currently operating an independent consulting practice in Calgary. I am an associate of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I presented my scenarios for WCSB natural gas at the Canada Gas and LNG Conference and Exhibition in Vancouver in May 2019.
