Doug Matthews

Doug Matthews is the chief growth officer for Guardhat, responsible for commercial operations for the pioneering technology company. Prior to his role with Guardhat, Doug spent more than 30 years with U.S. Steel, where he helped improve lagging indicator safety results to 10x over the Bureau of Labor Statistics composite for the domestic industry, was a founding participant in the company’s recommitment to Safety First and assisted in development of life-threatening programs that continue to be used today to mitigate risks throughout facilities. Doug has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State and an MBA from Duquesne University. He is based in Pittsburgh, PA.
