Daniel MacGregor

Daniel MacGregor BCD, RPP, MCIP Daniel MacGregor is an Associate with B&A Planning Group, having joined the firm in 2013 after previously working for the City of Edmonton, a consulting firm in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a local government authority in Melbourne, Australia. He graduated from Dalhousie University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Community Design Honours degree and is a Registered Professional Planner with the Canadian Institute of Planners. With more than 14-years of professional planning experience, Daniel has been working with landowners, developers, municipalities, and the energy industry throughout Canada. He has worked on a variety of land development projects over his career, involving reviews of municipal policies and technical reports, writing supporting information reports, application management, expert witness testimony, collaboration with clients, sub-consultants, and municipal staff, community engagement, and presentations to municipal councils and other regulatory bodies. Daniel has worked extensively with a pipeline operator in monitoring land use and development activity in proximity to their infrastructure through B&A’s referral monitoring system. This has involved thorough assessments of hundreds of applications, from new municipal policy plans to development and building permit applications. He has also completed several complex class location assessment area evaluations for a wide range of pipeline projects throughout Western Canada to support regulatory filings and has managed municipal development applications on behalf of pipeline operators. Daniel previously presented at the 2019 Community Planners Association of Alberta (CPAA) conference regarding “Land Use Planning in Proximity to Pipelines: Planning and Land Development Best Practices and Considerations.
